Richard Michael "Goose" Gossage is a former Major League Baseball right-handed relief pitcher who played for nine different teams during his 22-year career (1972-1994). He was known for his aggressive, intimidating demeanor on the mound, as well as his fierce fastball, which earned him the nickname "Goose." Gossage was a nine-time All-Star and World Series champion with the New York Yankees in 1978.

Gossage was one of the most dominant relievers of his era and was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2008. He finished his career with a record of 124-107, 3.01 ERA, 1,502 strikeouts, and 310 saves, which rank him among the all-time leaders in the history of relief pitching.
