About The Chinese Restaurant episode   The Chinese restaurant episode is one of the most iconic Seinfeld episodes and was dreamt up by the shows creator based on a real life wait in a Chinese restaurant. There are a number of facts why this is one of the most iconic episodes   Nothing really happens in this episode and Larry David threaten to quit as Warren Littlefield who was the president of NBC at the time thought the script was missing pages, he did not get it, he thought they were trying to save money.   This was one of two episodes that Kramer (Michael Richards did not appear in. The actor is noted saying he felt hurt being left out of this episode, he thought he was being written out of the show.   The episode plays out in real time and on the one set.   NBC predicted the episode to be the most unliked episode, but it became a fan favourite.
