  About Jimmy Carter   Born James Earl Carter on the 1st of October, 1924, Mr Carter served as the 39th President of the United States from 1977 to 1981. In 2002 he was awarded the 2002 Nobel Peace Prize for work to find peaceful solutions to International conflicts. Before his presidency in 1977 he served as the Governor of Georgia from 1971 to 1975. In 1982 after his Presidency he established the Carter Center to promote and expand human rights. Mr Carter served one term as President and was succeeded by President Ronald Reagan. Mr Carter is the oldest living President at the time of writing this.
