Michael J. Fox is a renowned Canadian-American actor, producer, and author, who first gained fame for his role as Marty McFly in the iconic "Back to the Future" film trilogy. Born on June 9, 1961, in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, he began his acting career at a young age, eventually moving to the United States in pursuit of greater opportunities.

Fox gained widespread recognition for his role as Alex P. Keaton on the popular sitcom "Family Ties" (1982-1989), for which he won three Emmy Awards. His portrayal of Marty McFly in the "Back to the Future" trilogy (1985-1990) solidified his status as a leading actor in Hollywood.

Throughout the 1990s, Fox starred in numerous films and television shows, including "The Secret of My Success," "Casualties of War," "Doc Hollywood," and the political sitcom "Spin City." Unfortunately, his career was interrupted by a Parkinson's disease diagnosis in 1991. Despite the challenges of living with the condition, Fox continued to act and became a prominent advocate for Parkinson's research.

In 2000, he founded the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, which has since raised millions of dollars for research into finding a cure for the disease. Fox has also authored multiple books, including "Lucky Man: A Memoir" and "No Time Like the Future: An Optimist Considers Mortality," in which he candidly shares his experiences living with Parkinson's disease and offers inspiration to others facing similar challenges.

Today, Michael J. Fox remains a beloved and respected figure in the entertainment industry and continues to use his platform to raise awareness about Parkinson's disease and the ongoing search for a cure.
