Bill Wyman, born William George Perks on October 24, 1936, in Lewisham, London, is an English musician, songwriter, and record producer. He is best known as the bass guitarist for the legendary rock band the Rolling Stones, with whom he played from 1962 until his departure in 1993.

Wyman's early interest in music was sparked by his exposure to jazz, blues, and early rock 'n' roll. He joined the Rolling Stones in 1962, and his bass playing style, characterized by a rhythmic and melodic approach, became a key element in the band's sound. In addition to his contributions as a musician, Wyman also contributed to the band's songwriting, co-writing tracks such as "In Another Land" and "Downtown Suzie."

During his tenure with the Rolling Stones, Wyman released his first solo album, "Monkey Grip," in 1974. He went on to release several more solo albums, showcasing his diverse musical interests and talents, which ranged from blues and rock to electronic and experimental music.

After leaving the Rolling Stones in 1993, Wyman formed a new band called Bill Wyman's Rhythm Kings, which allowed him to further explore his love for blues and rhythm & blues music. The Rhythm Kings featured a rotating lineup of talented musicians and released several albums throughout the 1990s and 2000s.

Beyond his musical career, Wyman is an accomplished photographer, author, and amateur archaeologist. He has published several books, including a memoir and books on photography and archaeology. Bill Wyman's enduring contributions to the world of music, combined with his diverse interests and talents, make him a fascinating figure in the history of rock 'n' roll.
