Steve Martin is an American actor, comedian, writer, and musician. He was born on August 14, 1945, in Waco, Texas, and grew up in Southern California. Martin started his career as a writer for the Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour in the 1960s, and later became a frequent guest on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson.

Martin's career as a stand-up comedian took off in the 1970s, and he became known for his wild and absurd humor, as well as his signature catchphrase, "Well, excuuuuuse me!" He released several successful comedy albums, including "Let's Get Small" and "A Wild and Crazy Guy," and won four Grammy Awards for his comedy recordings.

In addition to his work in comedy, Martin has also had a successful acting career. He has appeared in numerous films, including "The Jerk," "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels," "Parenthood," and "Cheaper by the Dozen." He has also hosted Saturday Night Live several times and made guest appearances on several other television shows.
